Saiful Iskandar Adha bin Saiful Azlan (Saiful Iskandar) or also known as Iskandar, is arguably one of the most promising players of the Selangor 2 squad this season who is getting more and more attention from local football observers.

His professional football career began at the end of 2016 when he participated in the selection session for the Selangor Youth and he was spotted by the head coach who was building the team for the 2017 season.

At the age of 18, Iskandar was inducted into the Selangor Youth team and managed to score 6 goals and produce three assists in 12 appearances in his debut season.

The outstanding achievement has opened the door for this winger to be promoted into the Selangor President's team the following season. Despite being one of the youngest players in the team, he has netted 10 goals as well as providing half a dozen assists in 24 appearances from 2018 to 2019.

Iskandar's excellent performance has received attention from UiTM FC's head coach, Frank Bernhardt and he was loaned out to the team for a season, playing in the highest level of the Malaysian League, the Super League last season.

For the record, Iskandar has played in the Super League for 83 minutes by making an appearance in 7 matches last season and even became The Lion’s first eleven against Perak FC at the Perak Stadium, Ipoh.

With the experience of playing in the highest league in Malaysia that he gained last season, Iskandar is now back with the Red Giants and has become one of the most prominent players of Selangor FC 2 who is currently sitting at the 3rd spot in the 2021 Premier League with 9 points accumulated as a result of 3 wins and one defeat.??

Iskandar’s agility and good ball control have benefited Selangor 2 head coach, Michael Feichtenbeiner’s overall attacking plan as he has a good partnership with Liga Premier’s current top scorer, George Attram and he also scored a goal himself this season against the MSN-FAM Project Squad.

For Iskandar, family always comes first. He admitted that his family’s support means a lot for him and aimed to continue to play well this season and hopes that there will be an opportunity for him to play in the Super League, donning the Red Giants’ kit.

"My main inspiration to continue to play well in football is my family. I want to give the best for myself and them," Iskandar explained.

"I want to help the Selangor FC 2 team achieve the target for the 2021 season. With good performance, I hope it can provide an opportunity for more young players to represent the main team next season," said Iskandar who shared his hopes.
